A couple of days ago, I posted a makeup post about a back to school natural look. In the post, I featured the Naked Basic Palette. I decided that it would be nice to post about it separately. The Naked Basic palette contains six of Urban Decay’s eyeshadows. Five of them are matte, while only one of them is a shimmer/ satin based shade. I find that this palette is amazing for a simple but gorgeous look and the shades could suit anyone.
The packaging itself is very secure. I’ve had this product for nearly two years and I use it daily. Not once has this product opened when it was in my handbag. The eyeshadows themselves are very longlasting and are great for girls like myself who prefer matte eyeshadows over satin eyeshadows. A lot of the larger naked palettes, have a lot of satin, shimmery colours which are very pretty, but not very practical for everyday wear. In the picture here, you can see how the first three colours are very light and great for a good base.
The eyeshadows themsleves leave a smooth finish and are not at all chalky like some matte eyeshadows can be. There are six shades, as seen in the picture above, and each of them are very unique. From left to right, they are; Venus, Foxy, W.O.S, Naked 2, Faint and Crave. I use venus to highlight, foxy as my base , naked 2 in my crease and Faint on my brows. I find that Crave can also be used as powder eyeliner. The eyeshadows are very easy to blend and can be blended by a brush or by fingers. One of the best things about this palette is that you can go subtle with it or you can build it up darker.
The palette itself is suitable for both cool and warm skin tones which I find amazing. It makes amazing looks on both my best friend and me, even though I have a cool skin tone, while her’s would be warm. Basically, the moral of this story, is that anyone can look amazing with this palette. It’s small but sturdy and great to bring travelling since it doesn’t take up too much space.
Over all, I think this is a brilliant palette and is well worth the money. I would give this product a ten out of ten.
