Garnier Haul!!!

It seems that every time I walk into a store, I leave with new hair products. It’s like I say to myself “Yeah sure, I bought a new shampoo last week, but this one has coconut in it, and shampoo rotations are good for the hair.” I just can’t help it, all the colourful bottles seem to lure me in, all of them silently calling me over. The only thing is, I find hair products often to be quite disappointing. John Frieda? He could not master my frizzy mane. OXY? Yeah no, their shampoo also did little to smooth out my hair. However there are certain brands that I would take a bullet for.

Garnier.

Garnier Ultimate Blends

I love Garnier. Their hair care range is so extensive that the Ultimate Blends range has twelve different ranges within it!

From their hair masks to their hair oil, I have to call on my inner self control whenever I pass a garnier section in my local boots or Tesco. I recently bought three products from them in one go! It honestly really hard to even pick what Garnier hair range I wanted to purchase in the first place – they all smell amazing, leave my hair feeling and looking the bomb. They’re all so reasonably priced that it’s almost impossible to not buy every product which they offer. Thankfully the last time I bought a garnier haul, I was able to chose three products to buy. Wanting to treat my hair (which the summer heat has not treated well, at all!!!!), I bought a hair shower mask from their olive range, a hair oil from their argan and camellia range, and a hair balm from their argan and almond range. Picking was hard – I really wanted to also buy their oatmeal ranges heat protector cream, but, my inner self-control reasoned that buying four products was too much for one Tesco trip.

Olive Oil Hair Mask:

Mythic Olive hair mask Garnier

The first thing I want to say is that Garnier has a brilliant range of hair masks. I would buy all of them if seemed like a rational idea. However, buying more than one hair mask at any time seems a bit wasteful to me. I settled for the Mythical Olive range because of the properties it offered: for dry, brittle. The brittle part put me off a tiny bit as my hair may be dry, but it isn’t brittle. However, I love the mask.

“Intensely nourishes dried out hair without weighing it down.”

That definitely sounds like a property that I needed in a hair mask. This mask is fantastic, I leave it in my hair for five minutes before I condition, then I wash it out. It’s quick, it’s easy, and, it’s amazing. It retails at £4.99 pounds and is a bargain for the great care it gives to my hair. Another amazing thing about the garnier hair mask range is that they’re also available in sample sizes for £1, so it’s easy to test all them out to find one which suits you best!

My personal favourite hair mask is their 3 in 1 coconut mask. That mask however deserves a post of its own as it’s a 3 in 1.

The Olive mask is available for purchase here!

The Marvellous Glow Oil with Argan And Camellia Oils:

Probably the first thing to draw my eye to this oil was the fact that it offers UV protection! I always find it so easy to find products for my face with UV protection, however, finding cheap products with UV protection for hair is rare for me. This oil is a bit more expensive than the hair mask, however it’s worth the price. It has many purposes. I put some in my hair before washing to prepare my hair, and I use it after I condition on wet hair to lock in moisture. I apply it to my dry hair to liven up my hair on bad hair days. I personally don’t straighten my hair as I love my curls, but this miracle oil also offers up to 230 degrees heat protection!! As claimed by the brand, this oil adds a glowing shine to my dry hair even on its worst of days.

Camellia oils Garnier Ultimate blends

Some other things which I love about this product is that it doesn’t leave my hair greasy. I tend to find that a lot of oils leave my hair looking like I haven’t showered in days! Especially in the front of my hair. This is a feature of oils which makes me hesitate before I spend my money on them. Thankfully, this particular oil does not make my hair look greasy. I only have tried one other oil from garnier which is the coconut oil -also very good- so I can’t make a broad statement and say that all Garnier oils are like this. However this particular oil is amazing how it nourishes without leaving excess oil behind.

For anyone wanting silky, nourished hair, I would thoroughly recommend this fantastic oil. It is available for £9.99

Ultimate Blends Argan Richness Leave-in Taming Hair Cream:

I have thick, frizzy at times, curly hair. Things tends to get crazy on my between wash days. When going to work, I don’t tend to have time to shower in the morning as I have to commute using two buses. This means that I often shower at night, and, by the morning time, my hair tends to resemble a Lion’s mane. Now, I have nothing against lions, however, I don’t like it when my hair looks like one.

Argan Richness Garnier

It was for this reason that I picked up this particular hair product. The claim the bottle made that it could soften my hair while taming it, really perked my interest. This product has both Argan Oil and Almond cream in it. Paraban and silicone free with a bottle which can be recycled, this product is great. I really love leave in conditioners like this one. I tend to find that as someone with dry hair I often need more than just conditioner that I wash out. That is why this leave-in conditioner is so handy for me – it gives my hair the extra love and care that it desperately needs!

I used to have a lot of hair mousses which I recently swapped for creams like this one. While the hair mousses did great things for the appearance of my hair in the short run, leave in conditioners like the Garnier argan leave-in conditioner treat my hair better in both the short run and the long run. The cream tames my hair when I put it in but I’ve also noticed a general tamer appearance over the past few weeks that I’ve been using it. I will definitely be repurchasing it when I run out.

It is available here for £5.99!

My current skincare routine

Skincare is something that I really value and like a lot of people, I tend to vary with different products. Each of the products that I’ll be mentioning below, I’ll be doing seperate reviews on each if I haven’t already reviewed them. This week, I’m basically going to be focusing a lot on skin care products that I love.

Once a week, I apply the seaweed ionic face mask to help get rid of my black heads. I have a review of it on here already. I tend to find that this product can be very harsh at times on the skin so I often apply the Quick Fix mega moisture mask that is for thirsty skin. I only apply these once a week but that is enough for my skin.

Now, with my daily skin care routine, I often change and switch the products with different ones as I said already but  at the moment I’m really loving the products that I’m currently using.  The first thing I do in the morning is wash my face.  The cleanser I use is made by Benefit and is the Foamingly Clean.  This cleanser is very true to it’s name; it foams up on my skin and leaves my skin feeling very clean.  This cleanser is one of the best I’ve used and I’ll be going into it in more depth when I post its review.  Once I’ve washed my face, it’s then time for me to tone. The toner I use is the Garnier Refreshing Toner which I also already have a review posted on. Then I moisturize with the Soap and Glory Fab Pore micro smoothing moisture cream.   I love this product and it really  helps my skin be less dry.  At night, I do the same routine, only I also use the Pore cleansing facial exfoliator from the body shop as well.

Tone your life:

There is nothing better than a good toner. For years, I have never really known until very recently what exactly a toner is. I know that might sound crazy but I’ve never been a toner type of girl so I’ve never felt the need to find out. Google’s definition of a toner is a product that is an astringent liquid applied to the skin to reduce oiliness and improve its condition.  Toners are used for many different reasons. Some girls use it to soften their skin, while others use them to reduce the size of pores.

The Toner that I am reviewing today is the Refreshing Toner by Garnier. The product is supposed to tone and brighten skin. This product is enriched with lotus flower and Moringa extracts. The first thing that I have to say about this product, is that I love how it smells. It had a very refreshing smell and I find it actually slightly smells like Lotus flowers.  The scent is not strong though which is also good.

I love this Toner and it does exactly what is claims to do. It always leaves my skin fresh and bright. I use when I wake up in the morning and before I go to the bed.  This product is great for people with drier skin. I would usually find oil based toners better but this toner is water based and works brilliantly. I would rate this product a ten out of ten. It cost me under a five to buy it so you definitely get a product that is great value.

My makeup routine for school

Usually when it comes to school, I couldn’t be bothered to wear any makeup, but sometimes, I wake up inspired to make myself look better than I do usually do in school.

Most of the time though, I prefer to sleep for an extra half an hour. The trouble with my school – and many other schools – is that there is a strict policy regarding makeup. That means I have to wear it very subtly but still make myself look as good as possible. It can feel like a daunting task and it often puts me off even bothering to do anything with makeup in the morning.

To start my makeup routine, I cleanse, tone and moisture my face as I do everyday anyway. I like to look after my skin when I remember to, that is. The cleanser I use is the Seaweed Purifying facial cleanser by the body shop and is well worth the money. My toner which I am using at the moment is the Refreshing Toner by Garnier. My moisturizer cream is by soap and glory and is called The Fab Pore. These three products are great and I’d recommend them for anyone looking for new skin products.

Then I set my primer. The Primer that I use would the Porefessional by Benefit which helps cover large pores. As a person who has quite the large pores, this product really helps me not be insecure about how my pores look. As for the priming element of this primer, I find that it helps make my foundation last for a couple of hours longer than what it would without the primer. The Porefessional is very easy to apply and feels like silk on the skin. Some would see it as very expensive, which it is but I think that it is worth the price since you are paying for a product that works.

After having put my primer on, I then get a bit of my favourite foundation, which is Revlon Colorstay in the shade 110 ivory. I don’t use much of this and using a brush by Real Techinques, I apply the product on my t-zone and blend in it using a beauty blender. After that I apply my Stay Matte pressed powder by Rimmel which is in the shade of 002 pink blossom.  Once again, I apply this product using a real techniques brush that I got in a gift set.

Next, its time to bronze my cheeks. Using my Hoola bronzer by Benefit cosmetics, I sweep a bit of this onto both cheekbones, to give them a bit more definition. I am very careful with how much I apply, because I want it to look natural, and not look fake. Then for my blush I apply the Danedelion blush which is also made by benefit. I have an obsession with benefit products and can not refrain from purchasing their products. The cute packaging just lures me in. Now that my face is done, I start to work on my eyes.

From left to right: Venus, Foxy, WOS (walk of shame), Naked 2, Faint, and Crave.

Now my eye makeup, is very simple when it comes to school, I don’t like having to go too much trouble so to get a nice but easy look, I use the Naked Basics palette to achieve it. I will be posting a proper review of this palette later on this week so I won’t be going on too much about  the product.

For my look, I only use four out of the six colours. For the whole eyelid, I fill it in with the colour Foxy. I don’t use a primer for my eyes in this case. Then for my outer lid, I apply the W.O.S shade to highlight the outer corner in a subtle way. I then apply the lightest of the three darker shades and apply it in the crease to create shadows. After all of this, I apply the only shimmer shade, venus to the brow bone and to the inner corner of my eyes. Once I have my eye-shadow done, I apply one coat of my favourite mascara, They’re Real by Benefit (again) and off I go to school for the day. This is my perfect look for school !!
