Benefit Gift Sets

Currently at the time of writing, Benefit at Debenhams is having a 10% off offer.

One thing which I’ve always loved about Benefit is the fact that they offer sets of their makeup and that they sell mini versions of many of their individual products. I personally believe that all brands should offer mini’s of their products- I’m much more likely to purchase a product after trying a smaller version of it.

Last month I nearly bought the new limited edition Anna Saccone Benefit Eyebrow kit but stopped myself. I used to buy a lot of benefit sets and I’m sad to see the ones I used to love no longer there.

(I wanted the “How to Look Best at Everything giftset as a teen, but the Benefit sales lady advised me against buying it as it didn’t suit my skin tone)

Now I’m looking at Benefit’s other sets and I’ve decided to rank them for you guys.

Benefit ‘Homemade Hotness’:

I actually own this kit and I can vouch for how amazing it is. I really love it because it has products for the whole face which I like. This kit is great for anyone new to Benefit as a brand because it features most of Benefit’s popular products.

Benefit ‘The Pretty Started’:

I don’t own this gift set but I would definitely buy it if I didn’t own most of the products in the set – I own the full size version of Hoola and it is my main bronzer. I’ve had the same one for years, I don’t think it’s ever going to run out. I actually really want to try Galifornia blusher so I may buy something with that in it. I own the fullsize version of Whats Up and I swear by it.

It’s a great little set which includes a blusher, bronzer and a highlighter.

Benefit Anna Saccone Limited Edition Eyebrow Gift Set

This set is probably one of the most pricey sets which I’m showing on this post today. Usually retailing at €65.00, it is currently going for €58.50. While this set is pricey, there is a lot of great products included. Including two Pricisely my Brow pencil in shades 3.5 and 4, one fool proof brow powder in shade 4, one 3D browtones 2, and, one high brow glow highlighter. The only downside to this product is that since it is all in Anna’s colouring, anyone who isn’t the same shades as her can’t buy it.

Those are the three main sets which I like the most at the moment. Are there any sets which you like?

I really miss the old sets like All is Bright. I adored that set and regret throwing out the box.

How to make pores smaller? Try the Porefessional

Probably one of the most sought after primers are those which minimalize pores. The Porepessional is the best of them all.

The Porefessional is one of Benefits well-renowned face primers which is claimed to be able to hide large pores, and smoothen skin. Since I have three years of experience with this lovely primer, I can confirm this is true. I love this product like no other, and I could not go without it.

Porefessional how to minimalize pore

As a person with combination skin, I have a big problem with pores. No other product other than this has helped me hide my pores. Another thing that I love about this product is that it smoothens out my skin and leaves a silky feeling behind. It is the perfect base for my foundation and definitely helps lengthens out the life of my makeup.

It is a brilliant primer, and leaves a lovely matte finish on my skin. I would really recommend this product to friends. I would rate it four out of five stars. Irish viewers can purchase it here at boots for €34. American and Canadian viewers can buy it here at Sephora for thirty-one USD. For those in the uk it is at boots uk for twenty-four pounds.

Thank you so much for reading xx

My makeup routine for school

Usually when it comes to school, I couldn’t be bothered to wear any makeup, but sometimes, I wake up inspired to make myself look better than I do usually do in school.

Most of the time though, I prefer to sleep for an extra half an hour. The trouble with my school – and many other schools – is that there is a strict policy regarding makeup. That means I have to wear it very subtly but still make myself look as good as possible. It can feel like a daunting task and it often puts me off even bothering to do anything with makeup in the morning.

To start my makeup routine, I cleanse, tone and moisture my face as I do everyday anyway. I like to look after my skin when I remember to, that is. The cleanser I use is the Seaweed Purifying facial cleanser by the body shop and is well worth the money. My toner which I am using at the moment is the Refreshing Toner by Garnier. My moisturizer cream is by soap and glory and is called The Fab Pore. These three products are great and I’d recommend them for anyone looking for new skin products.

Then I set my primer. The Primer that I use would the Porefessional by Benefit which helps cover large pores. As a person who has quite the large pores, this product really helps me not be insecure about how my pores look. As for the priming element of this primer, I find that it helps make my foundation last for a couple of hours longer than what it would without the primer. The Porefessional is very easy to apply and feels like silk on the skin. Some would see it as very expensive, which it is but I think that it is worth the price since you are paying for a product that works.

After having put my primer on, I then get a bit of my favourite foundation, which is Revlon Colorstay in the shade 110 ivory. I don’t use much of this and using a brush by Real Techinques, I apply the product on my t-zone and blend in it using a beauty blender. After that I apply my Stay Matte pressed powder by Rimmel which is in the shade of 002 pink blossom.  Once again, I apply this product using a real techniques brush that I got in a gift set.

Next, its time to bronze my cheeks. Using my Hoola bronzer by Benefit cosmetics, I sweep a bit of this onto both cheekbones, to give them a bit more definition. I am very careful with how much I apply, because I want it to look natural, and not look fake. Then for my blush I apply the Danedelion blush which is also made by benefit. I have an obsession with benefit products and can not refrain from purchasing their products. The cute packaging just lures me in. Now that my face is done, I start to work on my eyes.

From left to right: Venus, Foxy, WOS (walk of shame), Naked 2, Faint, and Crave.

Now my eye makeup, is very simple when it comes to school, I don’t like having to go too much trouble so to get a nice but easy look, I use the Naked Basics palette to achieve it. I will be posting a proper review of this palette later on this week so I won’t be going on too much about  the product.

For my look, I only use four out of the six colours. For the whole eyelid, I fill it in with the colour Foxy. I don’t use a primer for my eyes in this case. Then for my outer lid, I apply the W.O.S shade to highlight the outer corner in a subtle way. I then apply the lightest of the three darker shades and apply it in the crease to create shadows. After all of this, I apply the only shimmer shade, venus to the brow bone and to the inner corner of my eyes. Once I have my eye-shadow done, I apply one coat of my favourite mascara, They’re Real by Benefit (again) and off I go to school for the day. This is my perfect look for school !!
